The first step of any decorative concrete floor if to fix the surface, fill cracks, expansion joints and analyze moisture issues. Moisture is the biggest challenge for any concrete surface. You may not be aware of it, but concrete is porous.

When it cures, there are capillaries and veins that moisture vapor can emit through. Moisture pressure will push vapor upwards through the pores and can cause delamination of any surface. This is the first analysis needed for your floor.

Cement Repair Solutions

Cracked Concrete – The appearance of any surface is subject to the substrate. In some cases the concrete needs to be cut out and replaces, most often holes and spalling can be fixed with urethane.

The result is a smooth surface. Self levelers can be integrally colored or topically stained and sealed with matte or glossy sealers.

Sealer and Epoxy Removal – May of our projects are restoration of old coatings or surfaces where the sealers have worn off and lost their luster. There are numerous options to remedy these problems. We use specialty strippers to remove sealers or our contractors will need to mechanically grind off the old coatings before they reapply a new surface.

Grind and Seal – For a quick, economical fix, our crews can do a grind and seal process. Floors can be grinded exposing a new layer of concrete then sealed with the most appropriate sealers. Concrete Polishing – What is polished concrete? The industry views concrete polishing as a process of mechanically grinding the top layers, then applying hardener called a “densifyer”. Densifyers create a chemical reaction that tightens the pores of the concrete creating increased surface area to polish. The final steps utilize fine polishing resulting in a matte or gloss finish depending on what you want.

Epoxy Paint and Coatings – Most people think epoxy is just epoxy paint. But did you know there are easily 20-30 different grades depending on specific use and budget.
